Dr. Rebecca Resnik is most known for her work bridging the gap between research and practice as well as educating clinicians about our brain-based understanding of learning differences including ADHD
Today we’ll be sharing the exact same information Dr. Resnik has used with thousands of families, psychologists, and educators to advocate for evidence-based diagnosis and brain-based interventions for students with learning differences.
One thing about Rebecca that really impressed me is her role as a Continuing Education Provider. She’s been approved by the American Psychological Association and provides continuing education to other psychologists at the post-doctoral level for international, national, state, and local events.
While we know that we have a literacy crisis in our country, and that students with ADHD are at higher risk. We know that the consequences for overall quality of life are serious.
Dr. Resnik’s interactive workshop will explore current research regarding co-occurrence of ADHD and reading disorder, and what that means for students as they progress out of K-12 education.
She will discuss what we know about how the brain learns to read, and contrast that with what actually happens in classrooms.
Dr. Resnik will teach you how to recognize an evidence-based reading program that can work for students with ADHD. She will also point you towards resources so that you can also become a “fierce advocate” for student’s right to effective reading instruction.
