Chris is most known for practicing meditation for 20 years and has led hundreds of meditation and mindfulness workshops around the world.
He is going to share with you the benefits of meditation, how mindfulness can help teens reduce stress, some breathing techniques that parents can practice with their teens, and also some recommendations on how to get them to practice mindfulness activities.
What impressed me the most about him is the depth of his knowledge and fluidity, which allows him to confidently speak about any aspect of mindfulness and recommend meditation strategies to improve executive functions.
Dr. Willard’s presentation will explore current research regarding how mindfulness builds emotional intelligence; increases attention and focus; minimizes stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem; and boosts happiness. Also, how mindfulness significantly enhances what psychologists call “flourishing”— a state of mind that encourages individuals to embrace life and not avoid it.
We will discuss various mindfulness activities that may suit your teen, based on his or her learning style, interests, and attention span.
By the end of it, you will have the resources and tools needed to implement mindfulness activities for your middle-school-aged child.
