Dr. Ross Greene is the originator of the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions model, or CPS, that helps teachers and parents better handle behaviorally challenging kids in the classroom and at home through the implementation of his approach to solving problems collaboratively.

He is going to share with you the practical strategies to enact the CPS model, which he has shared with thousands of families.

I was very impressed by how Dr. Greene breaks down the ways of fostering collaboration and empathy to inspire change for all children (especially the most vulnerable ones).

While we know that teen-aged children, especially those with ADHD, often show some challenging behavior, it’s important to remember that sometimes they cannot help their behavior.

Dr. Greene’s presentation will explore current research regarding the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model and how it can foster a collaborative partnership between adults and kids and engage kids in solving the problems that affect their lives.

We will discuss and practice ways to solve your child’s problems collaboratively, so they can be fully invested in solving the problems, the solutions are more durable, and over time increase their confidence in learning the skills they were lacking all along.

We will also practice some of the evidence-based Assessment of Lagging Skills and Unsolved Problems instrument. By the end of it, you will have the resources and tools needed to implement the CPS model for your middle-school-aged child.

Dr. Ross W. Greene, Ph.D., is the author of the well-known books The Explosive Child, Lost at School, and Raising Human Beings, and the originator of a model of care -- called Collaborative & Proactive Solutions -- emphasizing collaborative resolutions to the problems contributing to children’s behavioral challenges.

He has also served as an associate clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School for over 20 years, and is now adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech and adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia.

Dr. Greene founded the nonprofit Lives in the Balance ten years ago to provide free, web-based resources and to advocate on behalf of behaviorally challenged kids and their parents, teachers, and other caregivers. He lives in Portland, Maine.
