Anna is a speech and language pathologist (SLP) who is known for her work using media and games to improve students’ social skills.

She is going to share with you how she uses games as part of her work with children and adolescents, and explain how you can continue this type of work with your student at home.

Something that impressed me about Anna is her way of connecting with her audience by talking about very complex matters in a simple, matter-of-fact way that encourages actions and solutions.

Dr. Vagin’s interactive presentation will explore how games can be engaging tools to help children with ADHD build their comfort level with uncomfortable feelings, become more resilient, gain perspective-taking ability, understand that feelings can change very quickly, and recognize that it’s okay to make mistakes.

We will discuss strategies that can increase appropriate risk taking and help manage anxiety via role-playing, table-top games and video games.

You will leave with lists of recommended games as well as visual supports to use for in-the- moment support of your student.
